Service Description

Beard Hair Transplantation is a SAFE and RELIABLE method to restore your beard if you have suitable donor hair. Beard transplantation is becoming increasingly more popular ranging from restoring small areas (focal hypotrichia) lacking beard hair, repairing beard/moustache hair loss secondary to radiotherapy or joining up areas like your moustache to your goatee, to restoring larger areas. The best donor hair to use is your own beard hair from other areas on your face. Beard hair is unique as we need to mostly transplant single hair follicles. Even before one considers transplantation, we need to first assess if you are an appropriate candidate for surgery. That is, are you medically fit for surgery? Do you suffer from any neck issues as you will need to lie for many hours in certain positions? Is your expectation achievable? Do you have an appropriate donor site or sites? Do you suffer from any scarring which can decrease graft survival? Are you prepared that you may require repeat procedures? Are you aware that the goatee area may suffer from "cobblestoning effect" after surgery? A face to face consultation is always required so that all these questions can be answered before a quote can be given. If you would like to explore if this procedure is right for you, please arrange a consultation with our doctors. Please note, normal consultation fee applies. If you wish to pay for your surgery with your creditcard or have surgery outside of our normal business hours, then a surcharge is applicable. Long Hair transplantation is available for this procedure if you do not have enough suitable beard hair to relocate and transplant to the desired area. Please note, all prices and quotes are inclusive of GST. The fee includes the operating theatre fee. Revised 23rd September 2023
